SIKAGO

I get to live in one of the best cities in the world. Don’t believe what you hear on the news. Sikago, the hog butcher to the world and the windy city, I’ll take you around and introduce you to my city.

Located on the southern shore of lake Michigan or as The lovely Soozie calls it Limni Michigan. Its location and the reversal of the chicago river connected the Atlantic to the gulf of mexico. That project is said to be larger then the panama canal. commerse can come from europe enetr the st lawrence waterway and make its way through the great lakes to Chicago then doen to new Orleans.

The river was reversed so that the citys sewer didnt go back to the source of its drinking waer. The sck yards became a draw for immigrants from around the world. henry ford got the idea for the assembly line by watching butchers take apart ann animal carcaus. camunities sprung around the city to accomandate its diverse population. The germans setteld along Lincoln Avenue and the Polish along Milwaukee. The Greeks have Greektown and the Italians little italy. Then there is Chinatown, Pilsen and little village. The blacks were relegated to Bronzeville and the Irish owened Bridgeport and soon the whoe city. The coveted city jobs withtheir benefits and pensions were not handed out to the rest of the communities until later.

Winter starts on the mondays after thanks giving and it goes until superbowl, spring corresponds with the trek up the mountain and fall with the trek back down.
